The vision prompted Constantine to adopt the Christian symbol asking his soldiers to paint the Chi-Rho sign in their shields before engaging in battle, leading to a miraculous victory, as he had a significant disadvantage. After winning this battle he became the new Roman Emperor, stopping Christian persecution and promoting Christianity across the Roman Empire. The phrase signifies divine guidance and triumph through faith, becoming a significant motto in Christian history.
